Video Portraits by VideoLifeStories

everybody has a story to tell

"Anyone who's fortunate enough to live to be 50 years old should take some time, even if it's just a couple of weekends, to sit down and write the story of your life, even if it's only twenty pages, and even if it's only for your children and grandchildren."

VIDEO PORTRAITS

Video Portraits can be made at any point during a person's life, just like a portrait painting or a photograph, but a video portrait captures the person, the personality, mannerisms and humour better than any portrait ever could, no matter how skilled the artist or photographer.

Many people use a video portrait as a way to preserve family memories, as tracing family histories has been boosted by the popularity of TV programmes such as the BBC’s “Who Do You Think You Are?” and Ian Hislop’s series about WW1 veterans called “Not Forgotten”.

Ancestral records are often sourced through photographs or official papers, less so on film.

But for those interested in preserving their family history for generations to come, I can help record stories and experiences on film.  It is an ideal way of helping relatives to learn more about their ancestral family, and also provides a keepsake for many generations to come in dvd format.  So it can make a great gift.

Nothing can compare to seeing and hearing somebody tell their story in their own words.  Photographs are precious but filming family life stories means younger relatives will be able to learn more about the characters behind the faces.  It brings family history to life rather than being one dimensional.”

A video portrait is destined to become a family treasure for all future generations!
